Ms B. Jayamma, president of CMM, was speaking about the sex worker community's issues at the Southern Regional HIV/AIDS Consultation, organized by Forum of Parliamentarians in partnership with Dept. of Health and Family Welfare and Technical Support of DAC & UNAIDS.
CMM trains about 500 young people in a year on computer and vocational trainings with the support of Aircel Cellular Ltd. Their aim is to place them on job possibilities. These young girls and boys have got their course completion certificate and are ready for employment. THANKS TO AIRCEL!!!
The sensitization that is happening for the IPS officer trainees on maginal communtities: realities and aspirations on 14th-15th of June 2012 at CMM head office.
There have been 60 officers sensitized and the training they have got impressed them a lot. This training includes Power Point Presentations, woman sharing their life storys (how they rehabilitated), interaction with communtity members at the field and also taking first hand information about the organization and the community issues from the local police.
This training is the first of its kind in India. CMM thanks the Government of India, espacially the national police academy.
